Concord Fire Assistance and Education

In 2006 the Concord Township took responsibility of operations of the fire department. This was done to solidify the overall structure of the department with two new stations and the hiring of a full time chief.

If you would like to read the letter sent to the Elkhart Truth newspaper by the members of the department, click here.

With the purpose of the department’s non-profit status changing, the membership formed a new organization called “Concord Fire Assistance and Education, inc.” This non-profit organization has a two fold purpose.

     1. To provide needed equipment and training for Concord Township firefighters that would improve the emergency services to the residents of Concord Township.

     2. To provide scholarship funds for the children of Concord firefighters, Explorers, and other qualifying students.

     3. To provide assistance to our members during times of need.

Funding for the programs comes from the liquidated resources of the former department, along with various fundraising activities such as our annual fish fry.

Not being a government entity also allows our firefighters to be involved in other charitable events. Boot drives for MDA / Jerry’s kids, the U-93 Roof Sit to Stop Child Abuse, and Toys for Tots are all activities that our membership has actively participated in for many years.

For information on making a tax deductible donation to “Concord Fire Assistance and Education”, please e-mail us at: CFAE@concordtwpfd.org.

We remember the 343 firemen who died on September 11, 2001
